Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) originated from the Teacher Education College (PTPG) established on November 18, 1957. After several transformations, it became the Muhammadiyah Institute of Teacher Training and Education Jakarta (IKIP-MJ) in 1965. In 1997, through a decree by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI), IKIP-MJ transformed into Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA.
UHAMKA is the right choice for building character during college, as its academic system and campus social environment are designed to produce excellent graduates in scientific and technological advancements while upholding Islamic values.
As a modern Islamic university accredited “Excellent” by the National Accreditation Board (BAN-PT), UHAMKA envisions becoming a leading university based on Islamic values in the development of science and technology for the benefit of humanity.
UHAMKA focuses on various disciplines, including education, health, social sciences and humanities, economics, engineering, and communication. The university has thousands of students enrolled in diploma, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
