UHAMKA Hosts Professional Migrant Worker Training

Muhammadiyah University Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) signed an MoU on Cooperation Professional Migrant Worker Training with the Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) in the A.R Fachruddin Hall, 2nd Floor, FEB UHAMKA, Tuesday (18/2).

Signing of the MoU on Cooperation between UHAMKA and the Ministry of P2MI through PT. Timuraya Jaya Lestari is a collaboration in meeting the needs of medical human resources in the nursing field who can be sent to several hospitals in Saudi Arabia.

The MoU activity was attended and signed by Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla as Deputy Minister of P2MI and Member of BPH UHAMKA, Prof. Sudarnoto Abdul Hakim as Secretary of BPH UHAMKA, Prof. Gunawan Suryoputro as Chancellor of UHAMKA, Ahmad Faisol Main Director of PT Timuraya Jaya Lestari, and delegates from Hospital administrators in Saudi Arabia.

Prof. Gunawan Suryoputro said that UHAMKA will always be ready to meet the need for medical workers with superior competence, so that they can be sent to several Saudi Arabian hospitals and serve there.

“UHAMKA has prepared professional medical staff from students who have studied in this field who are ready to meet the needs of medical human resources in Saudi Arabia,” said Prof. Gunawan.

On the other hand, Ahmad Faisol as Director of PT. Timuraya Jaya Lestari said, we hope that through collaboration with UHAMKA it will become a spearhead so that all Indonesian nursing staff can work in Saudi Arabia and pass the Prometric competency test.

“To date, PT. Timuraya Jaya Lestari has sent 1800 nurses abroad, and today we will collaborate with UHAMKA to send more nurses who have superior integrity and competence so they can pass the prometric test. Around 6000 nurses are needed to work in Riyadh with our partners from Saudi Arabia,” said Ahmad Faisol.

Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla as Deputy Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers said that the discussion of #kaburajadulu was a motivation for the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Agency (BP2MI). In this case, workers who are ready to work abroad have basic skills.

“Workers who work abroad in the future, don’t just focus on courage, but must be followed by competency skills. They are not only ready in terms of competence, but also in their vision. The presence of UHAMKA as one of the best private universities in Indonesia, can help to prepare superior human resource competencies from its students. By 2030, it is estimated that Saudi Arabia will need around 12 million workers from abroad, especially Indonesia, so #kaburajadulu is a motivation for the Ministry of P2MI and also the Indonesian people to be able to work abroad,” concluded Dzulfikar.
